There are tons and tons of text effect tutorials out there, but sometimes the simplest ones make the best presentation. I opened up Photoshop earlier and played around with some Blending Options. Very simple tutorial to create some quick and clean bold text. The final results will look like below:

Bold Text - Final

The font that I am using for this tutorial is called Kabel and can be downloaded for free. You can click the images to view them full size to see the details for the Blending Options. Lets get started.
1. Create a new Photoshop file, doesn’t matter what size. Default is fine.
2. Create some text on your page like below:

Bold Text - Step 2

3. Lets sart by adding some Blending Options to the text layer. Right click on the layer and choose “Blending Options…” Lets add a Drop Shadow to give it some “pop.

Step 3

4. Now that we have added some Drop Shadow to our text. We are going to add a small Inner Shadow to the text, and we are going to use white (#FFFFFF), give it a strong but subtle outline appearance.

Step 4 - The Inner Shadow

5. Now the last step, a Gradient Overlay to seal the deal. For the colors, I did black -> white, with the opacity at 38%

Step 5 - The Gradient

Told ya, it was quick! Check out the final result below. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
